What an appliance repair visit can cost—and what to ask
A useful quote separates diagnosis, labor, parts, travel, warranty, and any return visit.

Ask whether the diagnostic or trip charge is applied to the completed repair and whether travel outside the service area costs extra.

Request the part number, labor amount, taxes, and total authorized price before work begins. Ask what could cause the price to change.

Confirm the warranty in writing. Parts and labor may have different coverage periods, and customer-supplied parts may have no labor warranty.

Describe the symptom accurately: error code, sound, smell, when it occurs, and what changed recently. Provide the model and serial number before the visit.
