Photograph the sticker or metal plate showing the brand and model number—not the appliance’s front logo or a receipt.

  • Use good lighting, hold the camera straight on, and avoid glare, shadows, and flash reflections.
  • Move close enough to read the letters, tap the label to focus, and hold the camera steady.
  • Keep the brand and complete model number visible, including any letters or numbers after a dot, dash, or slash. You can upload the whole label—no cropping needed.
  • Check that the text is sharp before uploading. If it is blurry or worn away, type the model instead; don’t guess missing characters.

Use only a safely accessible label. Do not remove covers or move a heavy appliance just to take a photo.

Model number or serial number?

The model identifies which instructions you need. The serial number identifies your individual appliance. Look for “Model”, “Model No.” or “MOD” on the label, and keep any suffix after a slash or dot.

Photograph only an easily accessible label. Do not move a heavy appliance or remove a panel to find it.

Manuals and diagrams are for identifying your appliance and following its owner instructions. Internal electrical repairs, gas controls and refrigerant work belong with a qualified professional.
